Workshop on the Move in Luxembourg

Following the successful visits to Strasbourg and The Hague, the Central European Academy has organised another exciting study trip, this time to Luxembourg, 9-13 February 2025! The participants, PhD students from the Ferenc Deák Doctoral School of the Faculty of Law at the University of Miskolc and Scientific Researchers at the Central European Academy explored the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU). As one of the most important institutions of the EU, the CJEU plays a key role in ensuring that EU law is applied fairly and consistently in the Member States.

The programme included a guided tour of the court, the opportunity to attend a hearing, a visit to the library and a scientific workshop where participants presented their research on topics related to the CJEU. This trip offered a unique opportunity to broaden knowledge of European law, exchange ideas and discover the rich culture and charm of Luxembourg.

A Közép-európai Akadémia a sikeres strasbourgi és hágai látogatások után újabb izgalmas tanulmányutat szervezett, ezúttal Luxemburgba, 2025. február 9-13. között! A résztvevők, a Miskolci Egyetem jogi karának Deák Ferenc Doktori Iskolájának PhD-hallgatói és a Közép-európai Akadémia tudományos kutatói az Európai Unió Bíróságát (EUB) fedezték fel. Az EU egyik legfontosabb intézményeként az EUB kulcsszerepet játszik abban, hogy az uniós jog igazságos és következetes alkalmazása a tagállamokban biztosított legyen.

A program része volt egy vezetett túra a bíróságon, lehetőség meghallgatáson való részvételre, könyvtárlátogatás, valamint egy tudományos műhely, ahol a résztvevők az EUB-val kapcsolatos témákkal kapcsolatos kutatásaikat mutatták be. Ez az utazás egyedülálló lehetőséget kínált az európai joggal kapcsolatos ismeretek bővítésére, eszmecserére, valamint Luxemburg gazdag kultúrájának és varázsának megismerésére.

On 28th January, Professor Dr. Vasilka Sancin was elected by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) as a judge of the European Court of Human Rights in respect of Slovenia

Professor Dr. Vasilka Sancin has been a member of the Central European Professors’ Network since 2022. In 2022, she was affiliated with the research group „Constitutional Framework for the Protection of Future Generations and the Environment” and in 2024, she became an active member of the project „EU Enlargement and Successful Integration”.

Polish-Hungarian Platform

Polish-Hungarian Research Platform 2023 project coordinated by the Institute of Justice in Warsaw resulted in four books published online. The books consist of chapters written by Polish and Hungarian professors. Among the authors, there are the researchers of the Central European Academy, e.g. Prof. Dr. János Ede Szilágyi and Dr. Márta Benyusz. A varsói Igazságügyi Intézet által koordinált Lengyel-Magyar Kutatási Platform 2023 projekt eredményeként négy könyv jelent meg online. A könyvek lengyel és magyar professzorok által írt fejezetekből állnak. A szerzők között vannak a Közép-európai Akadémia kutatói, mint Prof. Dr. Szilágyi János Ede és Dr. Benyusz Márta.
