Conference called ‘Laymen in the Criminal Court Proceedings in Austria and Hungary, with special regard to the Issues and Practical Experiences of Jury Trials’ was held on the 11 April 2019 at the Faculty of Miskolc. The aim of the conference was to examine the differences between the Austrian and the Hungarian criminal procedure codes, with special regard to the participation of laymen: while the latter one restricted the popular participation in criminal procedures, the preceding criminal procedure code still regulates the legal institution of jury.

Lectures were held by Dr. Stefan Apostol, Prof. Dr.Dr.Dr. Dieter Kindel, és Dr. Ihor-Andrij Maritczak, Dr. Répássy Árpád, Prof. Dr. Farkas Ákos and Dr. Hircsu Krisztina.
